The Office of Divine Worship fosters the vision affirmed by the Second Vatican Council: that the Eucharist is “the source and summit of the Christian life.” By supporting and resourcing our parishes, the office helps ensure that the Sacred Liturgy is celebrated with reverence, beauty, and prayerfulness, so that all the Church’s ministries draw their inspiration from the Eucharist and ultimately lead the faithful back to an encounter and relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Archdiocese’s Liturgical Handbook (ALH) provides a detailed guide to celebrating the Eucharist according to Church norms. Introduced by Archbishop Sample, the ALH emphasizes reverence, beauty, and fidelity in liturgy, rooted in long-standing Church tradition. Drawing on core Catholic teachings, it covers all aspects of liturgical practice: Mass, sacraments, blessings, and devotions. The aim is to unify practices and deepen understanding, offering clear instructions and theological insights.
