Recently, the historic Holy Trinity Church in Bandon, known as "A Light by the Sea Since 1883," celebrated its official ground-breaking ceremony with Bishop Peter Smith to build a new church.

"It is with great joy that I welcome the news that Bishop-elect Thom Hennen has been appointed the new Bishop of the Diocese of Baker. I am very grateful to Pope Leo for appointing this experienced and well prepared shepherd for our neighboring diocese to the east here in the great State of Oregon. I look forward to working side by side with Bishop-elect Hennen for many years to come."
