Ordination to the Diaconate

Join us as we celebrate a major step in the lives of three local seminarians: their ordination to the diaconate, conferred by Archbishop Sample. Each of these men brings a powerful story of faith—two are adult converts and one cradle Catholic.

• Nicholas Martell: On track for a promising legal career, Nicholas returned to the faith after a personal tragedy and a providential pilgrimage to Ireland.
• Shawn Daniel: Raised in the Assemblies of God, Shawn drifted from faith but never lost his longing for God. Years later, a few Catholic friends led him to Mass, where he rediscovered peace and a sense of home—ultimately drawing him to the Church and a call to the priesthood.
• Zachary Muñoz: Initially hostile to Catholicism, and later resistant to the idea of priesthood after becoming Catholic, Zach’s call deepened through spiritual reading—especially the writings of Archbishop Fulton Sheen.
